St. John's Council presents a Family of the Month award to deserving members of the council and parish.
Annual Joint Memorial Mass - Coordinator-PGK Dave Satterfield
This major social and fraternal event is open to ALL family members and friends of St. John's Council #1622, San Juan Bosco Council #14726, Bishop McNamara Assembly #384 and the Court of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton #278 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Date: Friday, November 10, 2023.
Location: St. John the Evangelist Church, Frederick, MD.
Schedule:
Noon-3pm - Set-up of Hall for dessert.
5:30-6:30pm - Set up and Assembly in Church.
6:45pm - Ceremony for recently deceased Daughters, Knights and Spouses. (Note the earlier start time this year).
7:00pm - Memorial Mass.
8:00pm - Dessert in St. John's Community Center Hall. Drinks and accessories will be provided.
9:00pm - Cleanup
Names of deceased family or friends will be inserted into the program booklet for prayers during Mass;if submitted by the Saturday prior to to the event. NAMES MUST BE RESUBMITTED each year! Please limit to approx 10 names per family.

St. John's Council conducts an annual youth poster contest every Fall. Winners have an opportunity to compete at the Marylnd State level.

St. John's Council Scholarship Funds
The St. John's Council and Br. Dr. Thomas George endowed two scholarship funds for students of Catholic education in Frederick County. They are the Knights of Columbus Father Michael J. McGivney Memorial Scholarship Endowment and the Knights of Columbus Colonel Thomas F. George Memorial Scholarship Endowment
These investment funds are managed by the Community Foundation of Fredrick County (CFFC). Approximately $3000 is awarded annually toward tuition payments for Catholic education. The scholarship application and selection process is managed by Friends of Catholic Education.
